A 0.1% tax on Wall Street trades would generate $777 billion over a decade. That's enough to end homelessness in the United States 38 times over.

If you can’t afford it, you most likely arent giving the govt much money. Taxing poor people doesnt increase the govt income at all. Taxing a few rich people can easily make the same amount of tax as taxing all poor people. I agree; people who dont make millions or billions should not be taxed so hard, as that money could break some people. Hell, there should be a cutoff where you dont even get taxed under a certain salary.

The biggest opponents to taxing, and the most significant source of taxes is from the rich people.

Look, there are many issues, and we know there is a bloated military budget, we know there are corrupt deals. We need govt oversight to fix that.

The thing is, we should and could afford these things. We are the richest country in the world. The issue is where that money is concentrated.

Govt and taxes isnt the enemy. Insanely rich people with power are. The people with enough money to sway govt officials are.

The money being hoarded by billionaires could be put to better use, while not affecting their lifestyles at all.
