I was just wondering because of the following advice I read:

OK. . .getting a job as a prosecutor in Maryland is going to be very difficult unless you have political or family connections. And they Do Not Care about your grades, and in fact, probably won't care very much that you failed the Bar Exam. . ..but those jobs were difficult to get in Maryland 25 years ago, and today, they go to the connected. Kind of Unicorn jobs. I mean, if you get a Clerkship for a Circuit Court Judge coming out of law school, then you can probably get into your jurisdiction's State's Attorney's Office, or if you Rule 19 during law school and make a very good impression, other than that, it is difficult. Next--the Office of the Public Defender--yeah, that's not gonna happen. 30 years ago they would hire anyone, 25 years ago they would talk to and perhaps even interview anyone. Today, in Maryland, I know a guy who graduated quite high in his class from Georgetown Law working as an Assistant Public Defender in Baltimore City. The job market is that bad for new and recent law school graduates. Personally, I would much rather work as a garbage collector in the County than as an Assistant Public Defender in what is arguably the most violent city in America. Garbage men have a safe job, good pay, and the respect of their community. APD's in the City, not so much. Also, the pass rate for people who failed the Bar Exam once or more is much lower than the pass rate for first-time takers, something to take into consideration.
