1,534 cases of COVID-19 in Ontario. 460 in Toronto. 46,400 tests completed. 14 fatalities. - November 22, 2020

Yes we are, but testing can go as far as people want to get tested. I’ve posted this before—but basically think of it as a foot race between flu and COVID with COVID being more contagious and thus more likely to spread so winning the race because people most susceptible to the flu will also be most susceptible to COVID. Then consider people are more likely to get a COVID test vs flu test—if COVID test comes back negative, I imagine the person would assume they have the flu (and thus not need a test to confirm it). Factor in more people getting flu shots due to COVID concerns plus all our measures...etc

The end result is a seemingly non-existent flu season—but also it’s still fairly early to tell how flu season will play out, it will likely be milder but not due to some sort of conspiracy or number games to undermine the COVID numbers. Those numbers are real and should be considered reliable by people on any side of the spectrum if we want to have sound discussions on the topic.
