1 US Dollar = 1 Euro

They will be more likely to raise them, as the euros Europeans are paying will be worth less.

Apple actually has quite consistent global pricing, more than most brands. The largest difference is the tax, plus there is a little extra in Europe I guess to pay for the longer warranty required and higher costs of doing business. It's not that different though once you remove the tax.

You need to remember that US prices are always quoted ex-tax while European prices (and everywhere else in the world that isn't the US or Canada) are quoted including tax. You need to subtract the VAT to compare like with like).

MacBook Air M2 256GB price:

  • US - $1,199 (which right now = €1,199)
  • France - €1,499, includes 20% VAT
  • France ex-VAT price = €1,249

This is still more but it's not that much more, it's only 4%.

UK and Czech Republic (non-euro countries) are even cheaper, they work out at ~€1,209 with the VAT removed. Only €10 more (<1%).
