They say 1-Drop Rule=Bad; Embracing both sides=Good. But it seems like telling Hapas "you look Asian, but are not Asian" causes much more confusion than just being Black like Obama.

The Asian/White dynamic has some similarities to Black/White but is not directly comparable. The Black community on the whole is much more accepting of Black mixed race individuals than the Asian community is of Asian mixed race individuals. Eurasian people struggle more with identity issues and feel a sense of isolation because they are more likely to face rejection from both sides. Also, when it comes to physical appearance, many Hapas are Asian passing, and relatively few White passing. A significant percentage, however, like myself, are neither here nor there: https://imgur.com/a/mXElU. Which is not to say the ambiguously ethnic ones amongst us are necessarily confused; I think many people are made uncomfortable by our appearance because they are not quite sure how to label us - to which I say it is their problem, not mine.
