1. Do you guys get really mundane dreams? 2. How creative are you guys?

Someone chasing you down and trying to shoot you doesn't sound very mundane TBH. Also sounds like a good time to practice changing the environment with your mind if you manage to become lucid. Or just don't fear the one trying to shoot you because you're confident it can't hurt you for example.

I quit LD'ing despite amazingly unexpected progress in like a month, although with previous experience. Simply because when my memory vividness got so good I started remembering all the truly mundane dreams in perfect detail. Some felt like 10 hours long. One it happened like 5 times in a week topped with failing to stay lucid for long periods of time I just stopped giving a fuck completely. Got a bit tedious and boring from interesting and exciting.

Stick with the mundane dreams though, I feel they're necessary, once you remember those perfectly I'd say it means you've reached a high point.
