1-year-old girl dies after being left in car all day, marking 50th hot car death of 2019

If you have children, leave an item like your purse, wallet or cellphone in the back seat, something you need every day. Even if you don't have the child with you at the time always do this.

What happens a lot is 'Parent A' always brings the kids to daycare. 'Parent A' is sick so 'Parent B' does it one day. 'Parent B' goes on autopilot and forgets the kid is back there and goes about their business. Now we have a dead child.

Usually when our brain autopilots its a no harm situation. You start driving to work on a saturday. You drive to your old job or apartment/house. It's all about creating a pattern for your brain. Don't think you're smarter than your brain. You're not. Take the extra 3 seconds to be inconvenienced. It could save a life.

I give no excuses for people that party and leave their kid in the car or people that 'just have to run in real quick'. They are just dumb.
