I'm not sure why you believe concern surrounding the issue of Islamic extremism is simply owned by a specific 'wing', though there is an argument to be made that many on the left discredit and ignore all discourse on the matter as Islamophobia and many on the right use it as a vehicle to push actual Islamophobia, unfortunately leaving the middle ground of genuine and valid concern generalised with the right and dismissed by the left.
