10 observations from being hardstuck D5

See, this is false. I played a pro level in unreal tournament 2004 (top 15 in NA in 1v1/duel and on #1 ranked TDM team digital speed) and a semi pro level in counter strike source (lots of esea-main/cevo-main/cal-invite). I also typically land in the top 1-2% of any competitive game I play (GM in Overwatch, Global in csgo, P1/D5 in league). Mechanics are absolutely necessary at higher levels. What you say is true up until about Diamond 5-3 where I am. Once you start to climb higher, mechanics play a fairly important role. My mechanics are garbage. I lose myself in team fights. There is too much shit going on in league for my brain/eyes to follow properly. Do you think bjerg would be as good as he is with just his decision making and the mechanics of a gold player? No, her certainly wouldn't be. He'd be like Hai. Intelligent but lacks the mechanics to dominate his lane.

Having the right mentality can only take you so far. You need a proper mix of drive, focus, time/effort, mechanics, decision making, and game knowledge to progress. When you lack 2 or more, you will fail. In my case it's time and mechanics. Lack of time also means my game knowledge isn't up to snuff. I know my limits and I know why I'm stuck where I am. I blame no one else besides myself and of course, like to bitch about the games I do lose that were out of my control on those dirty trolls in d5 :)
