1000% Correct

I'm still confused as to why people that post in political forums allow their "votes" to be unseen.

1) It's a subreddit decision, made by the subreddit mods, to hide all comment scores for a set period of time

2) The comment scores are revealed after a few hours, depending on what those mods have set

3) It's to try and disrupt the hive mind. If a comment gets one upvote, its chances of being upvoted to 1000 rise astronomically regardless of the content of the post, and this has been proven with experiments. The same goes for downvotes. So by hiding the votes for the first few hours, it assures that any votes that are made are based entirely on the content of the comment, and not the current number of votes the comment already has
