100k in the "Bank" at 21, never felt more empty...

But the point of the post isn't even about shopping for cars like I literally said "I've never had a desire to spend it on a car or anything but even if I wanted to 100k doesn't even get you a nice car nowadays"

All I'm saying is that even if I wanted to spend it all on a car there's nothing that would even be worthwhile imo. Obv it makes no sense for me to do so given my situation but I'm saying I was close to reaching a point where I'm like fuck it I'll never be able to afford my own place so might as well buy a nice car and enjoy it while I'm young.

A new Tesla model X is 115k+tax, 911 is 115k+tax, and a lot of BMWs or Benzes ended up being practically 100k after taxes and they're really not that special. All of them used are also crazy inflated, GTRs went from 50k->80k since the pandemic started. Buying a GTR at 50k would be a sick purchase but who knows if we'll ever come back to that point again.

The only nice car at a good value I saw was a 2016 McLaren 540C for 155k a couple months ago but that got scooped up like chicken dinner.

If I'm delusional so be it but to me nice cars are R8s, GTRs, 911s, C8 Corvettes, 540s, 458s, I8, NSX, Huracans, G-Wagons, Model X etc.

Sure you can have a cool car under 100k but I'd never call it nice. That's just me haha.
