Note: This guide is intended to maximise your efficency and minimise weight in wars. Even though we strictly enforce members to follow this guide, we will expect some deviancies that have been talked through with Co-Leaders and the Leader.

One of the most important thing to a successful war clan successfully attacking your opponents for 3 star attacks. You can have all the strategy in the world, but if you don't have the proper tools, which in this case is high enough troop levels and heroes, you won't be successful even if you do everything right. As a result, we require all new TH9s to follow the TH8.5 strategy. This is where new TH9s hold off on building new defences until they have a good offensive strength, and can defeat the opponents they bring in. This is done to prevent new TH9s from producing an unfavorable war matchmaking ranking. You want to be an asset to your clan, not a liability. We expect new TH9s to follow this, and it is one of the things we take most seriously. Failure to do so may result in being forced to sit out of wars, or could result in removal.

Importantly, do not build any new defences unless you have reached the checkpoints listed below.

Starting out as a TH8.5

Know that we wont be expecting the best attack from you in your early TH9 days, but we do expect new TH9's to learn and start effectively implementing three-star strategies as soon as possible.

Starting out as a TH8.5 can be quite hard in terms of recources needed for your upgrades, the TH penalty, and the overall defence of your base. Starting at TH8.5, you should build and upgrade these structures right after your TH has finished upgrading.

Build:

  • 50 new walls, upgrading as high as possible and dumping spare recources into walls.
  • New Air defence, upgrade it to level 6.
  • New traps, upgrade them all to TH9 max.
  • Archer Queen, upgrade her as high as possible.
  • Tesla tower, upgrade to level 6 (For Thunder to decide)

Upgrade:

  • Clan Castle to level 5
  • Laboratory to level 7.
  • All army camps to level 7.
  • Drills to max level.
  • Previously built traps, upgrade to TH9 max.
  • Dark Barracks to max level.

Troop Priority:

Having an idle lab is a bad idea. Plan ahead and try to keep it active 24/7

  1. Hogs to level 5
  2. Golems to level 3 / Giants to level 6 / Balloons to level 6 / Heal Spell to level 6
  3. Golems to level 4 / Witch to 2 / Lava Hound to level 2 / Jump spell to level 2
  4. Archers to level 6 / Barbarians to level 6

Generally you want a whole number complete and the proceed to next one, but troop order may be different depending on your situatuon, and will be talked through with the Leader and Co-Leaders.

Do NOT:

  • Build any other defence that isnt listed in previous section.
  • Build XBows untill all criteria are met.
  • Upgrade any defences past TH8 level unless otherwise stated.

  • Checkpoints *

After settling as a TH8.5, we have some checkpoints listed to help and guide you with your following troop upgrades.

1 * Queen level 5. * Hogs level 5. * Traps maxed. * Clan Castle maxed. * Army camps maxed.

Build/Upgrade:
* Build all new defences EXCEPT for XBows, upgrade new defences to TH8 max. * Upgrade Air Defence to level 7.

* Laboratory 3 partly complete. * Drills maxed. * Heroes 10/10. * All defensive buildings at TH8 level, Air Defence at level 7.

Build/Upgrade:
* Build XBows, keep them at level 1. * Start upgrading defences, prefferably in this order: * Teslas. * Wizard Towers. * Cannons and Archer Towers. * Mortars and Air Sweeper.

* Heroes at 25 combined. * Most level 9+ walls (150-200).

Upgrade:
* XBows to level 2

* Heroes at 30 combined. * Lab priority list completed. * Finished level 9 walls, started level 10 walls.

Upgrade:
* XBows to level 3

After this point, you should be relatively close to finishing TH9, but before moving on to TH10 we expect heroes to be a combined 45 minimum, maxed all structures, and in the process of building level 10 walls.
