A 12 year old "boy genius" was just accepted to Georgia Tech, has dreams of going to Mars

There was a fourteen year old in one of my college courses. We were excited when we heard about our new classmate, but it quickly became apparent that this kid had been the golden child since birth. Our professor spent so much class time praising the kid and comparing them to the other students. He had a massive ego and was convinced that the other students were just tools to be used in his ascension to genius deity. The whole thing got old really fast and a lot of us felt kinda screwed over the wasted class time. I didn’t like the kid, but I felt bad for him. His parents didn’t really do him any favors by raising him in a bubble of endless praise and affirmation.
