12 years ago this week McCain defends Obama after a McCain supporter called Obama an 'Arab.'

I literally just watched a clip recommend through YouTube's algorithm regarding McCain calling Obama a decent person.

Chances are it probably cost him the election and there were boo's heard from the crowd too, the top comment from the video was something like:

"They were just waiting for their Trump"

Honestly as someone from another continent, and therefore an outsider, I can't disagree. There are so many problems with the US that will not be solved with this election, the first and foremost being the rampant racism held with what seems to be high regard to at least 40% of your voting population.

From the outside perspective, what's to stop another Trump from coming to power in the US, one of the two world superpowers and holder of the largest cache of nuclear weapons on the planet, given there is a base of 40% of people who would vote someone in who espouses those views in, no matter what? Make no mistake US presidential elections not only decide the fate of the USA, but also that of the west in general.

If the US falls to an authoritarian regime, so do the rest of us. Freedom ®, freedom of speech and expression, and for the American's reading this, your second amendment right to bare arms will be consigned to the dustbin's of history. A fascist, one-party regime will not let you keep firearms, they are too great a threat to their power to allow to continue. It's not just Trump supporters who have them, those that oppose him do too; and in a greater number. The right to have them with almost certainly be receded.

If he ascends to the throne of Premier Trump, then you can kiss your place at the top of the food chain goodbye and cement the west's place as the bitches of China and Russia for the next generation and beyond, but anything to prevent the centrist-communists from getting to power am I right?
