That's because it IS fake. You can't built something solid and good when it's belt on lies and falsehoods. Me high, mormonism is. Sadly, the fake is so baked into the dough, they don't even see it or know it's there...that's why they see it as real, and it's inky deep inside of them where the anxiety lives, that you'll see the cracks. Not all of them, but I'd venture, most. It takes leaving, walking away and shedding that paradigm to gain "new eyes" which with you can sudThat's because it IS fake. As to your niece, just be there for her in example, as much as anything. My own niece has a TBM nephew whom she worries about so much...I just tell her to be that other "choice", that other "view" for her nephew - one that is starkly different from his TBM parents ways (just like you describe with your niece...no caffeine, BYWho, temple marriage, smarmy bofM cartoons, etc). Her newphew (and your niece) cannot unsee the stark differences between the parents goose-stepping, and your there-are-no-lines-to-color-in life, one that includes adult decisions based on common sense, and yes, sometimes pure unadulterated serendipity and flights of fancy!
