(13) I steal alcohol and cigarettes from my parents and I do both regularly.

I’m a nurse and have seen firsthand in many middle aged/ elderly adults the havoc early drinking and smoking can cause on your body. Please stop!

-Your skin and eyes can turn yellow. -There’s always a stench on people’s clothes/skin who smoke and you don’t even have to ask if they do. You don’t want to drag an oxygen tank around everywhere you go. -Your belly can get extremely swollen from drinking too much and wearing your liver out. -drinking can change your mental status to begin with, but if you do it too much to where your liver fails you can go into what’s called hepatic encephalopathy. You’re severely confused and your body tremors.

Look up COPD or liver failure to see what I’m talking about if you want to put a face to a description.

Now granted, these are drastic/severe examples, but I don’t think every person who started at a young age thought they would get addicted and ruin their health. I also think if someone told them early on what could happen to them maybe they would’ve stopped or decreased their habits.

Please be kind to yourself and your body, you’re still growing!
