15 Of The Most Beautiful Cinemas Around The World

Sit the fuck down, the ultimate movie theater is the upstairs of the Los Gatos Theater (CA). Sure, flashy theaters get the tourists, but if you want a luxury experience and the absolute best environment to watch a movie in, Los Gatos is the way to go. It feels like a very expensive home theater.

  1. It was just remodeled last year, and since it's such a rich area (Steve Wasniak lives there) they put a ton of money into this theater. The whole thing looks fantastic, in black and white and silver with paintings on the walls. Instead of movie posters, they play trailers on the vertical flatscreens outside the theater.

  2. Huge leather armchairs that recline and have footrests. The most comfortable seats in the universe.

  3. Giant leather ottomans, in case the chair footrests aren't enough for you.

  4. Very small, maximum around 24 people, although you could probably fit more if people were sitting at the private tables on one side. No loud kids or annoying yelling. It's generally a lot of quiet people who react well to the movie but don't talk otherwise.

  5. None of this "cupholder" bullshit. There are real end tables, and in between the armchairs are these wooden armrest table things which you can remove if you don't have drinks.

  6. Private tables to the far left, where you could have a meal or a drink or whatever.

  7. There's a bar in the actual theater, which I'm sure they stock for special events or private parties. The entire back of the theater also opens up to reveal a giant windows.

  8. They actually show very quality movies. The downstairs theater is bigger and mostly mainstream stuff, but the upstairs one they usually show something indie or more critically-acclaimed, and also mainstream stuff once it's done in the lower theater.

And the best part are the REASONABLE PRICES. Seriously, I paid like $8 to have the best viewing experience of my life. Ever since the remodel, I've been extremely reluctant to go to any other theater, where I'll pay $12+ to sit in a shitty folding chair and deal with loud people spilling popcorn.

TLDR: Los Gatos is very rich and their theater kicks ass.
