$1500 - $2000 Build

For this one, I'm using an i7 K-series since it gives you a higher base clock, also, since it's unlocked, if you got the urge to OC you could, even doing a smaller amount to give you a tiny boost. I don't feel the X99 or DDR4 benefits are quite there yet, so I stuck to a Z97. Personally, I like having an optical drive just in case, but you could easily drop it since mostly everything is digital download now. Also, The Witcher 3 is being bundled with Nvidia cards, so the GTX 970 will get you a copy of that.

For just under $2000, you can add another GTX 970 as well for a SLI configuration, and you'd be set for long time.
