17 year old homeschooled mentally ill competitive dancer! AMA

it wouldn't be a secret if i told you! nah, i don't have too many. i'm relatively open about my life to those who ask about it, so i'm not sure there's anything i would consider to be too intriguing.

i think that's a very common opinion amongst people who weren't homeschooled, lol. in my case, i believe it was probably the best way to go. my parents chose to homeschool me as a kid because they had already put 4 kids through the new york public school system before me and it proved less than satisfactory, so they tried something different with me. i was always given a choice as to whether or not i wanted to stay homeschooled, and i think i probably would've been colossally fucked in 6th-9th grade if i were in public school due to my mental health. i hope people continue exploring alternatives to what they consider to be everyday things; not everyone is built for the same path, you know? i can understand why some people are against it, though. as long as you like, go outside and have some hobbies that allow you to meet people, i think it's cool

tl;dr i think it was very fortunate my parents chose to go that route with me but it's not for everyone
