170330 Jimin and Jin Thanking Chicago

Ah, I really adored that link.

Taehyung and Jimin's relationship always seemed turbulent and emotionally exhausting with the constant fight-and-make-up cycles, which I don't think is the most mature kind of friendship. As in, I think their friendship is mostly held together by loyalty and a sense of age-facilitated brotherhood, and not necessarily by an easy understanding of who the other person is as an individual.

I don't think Jimin and Taehyung's friendship is shallower than JM/Jin's, but I do think that Jin brings out more a more mature side of Jimin while both guys are having just as much hysterical fun. 95 club's good times were a lot more about tussling and pranking, I feel like, while Jin and Jimin experiment a lot more with deadpan irony, where they mock-fight and mock-bicker, and the fact that they're never actually mad at each other is the running joke.

I'm thinking of that VLive where they both smirked and deadpan-said they were doing EatJin, and pulled out lollipops and gum while just making fun of the other members' dumb habits. Tae and Jimin always reconcile after fights, but with Jin the vibe is so chill I literally can't imagine them ever having a misunderstanding in the first place.
