Replace "race" with any other social category that has existed throughout history and you can see how ridiculous this question is. How do we get to a post-slavery society by paying attention to slavery? How do we get to a post-class society by paying attention to class?

The unstated premise is that race *already* has no bearing on society other than the fact that people won't shut up about it, which is the opinion of someone who does not take the issue seriously in the slightest.
