Why would he get jail time? If this is his truly first offence, I believe his punishment is too harsh.

When I was a senior in high school a group of bottom tier students were caught drinking alcohol and smoking week during a school event. They all got a 2 week suspension and all grad events cancelled for that year. It was a collective punishment for all seniors....

I only seen police pressed charges and students get expelled for bringing a machete to school and another student a handgun. Even when a kid beat the living shit out of another didn’t get expelled, but if you touch a teacher you’re expelled.

But I do agree with you, I don’t think there’s anything he can do but learn from his mistakes. But I have heard about rich students lawyering their way through school.
