£ 1800 net a month enough to save?

I earn less than you about £1600pm. Live in Edinburgh with my partner. My monthly expenses are around £900 (rent, bills, council tax, food, petrol, mobile phone contract, gym and unlimited card for cinema) I manage to save £450pm sometimes more. My main activities are gym membership and unlimited card membership which together are about £30 and save me from going out and spending money on other things. I eat at home and shop at Lidl (Lidl plus is something you can take advantage of and their recycling scheme). I still have a couple of hundred after that to spend on anything extra I have going on. I should also mention my car insurance and streaming/gaming subscriptions beyond this are paid as a full year from my savings so they don't come out of my monthly expenses. I have a couple of savings accounts with their own purposes. I recommend the same to you when it comes to saving as it's good having a pot for emergency car repairs or holidays separate for where you're saving to buy a house (or whatever your plans are for your savings). Since you'll be on your own bills etc will be a bit higher than I pay but with your extra income that should cover the difference and you can certainly save your goal amount. All the best to you with saving!
