1800x with 1080ti @ 1080p & 1440p benchmarks (Guri3D)

I'd just like to point out that the "half-baked" Fury X is consistently beating the 980 Ti and in most cases even the 1070 in DX12 and Vulcan titles. Only exception is Tomb Raider, where they have PureHair enabled (lol). I feel like I'm taking crazy pills, considering I bought a Fury X over the 980 Ti and everyone criticized me for it.

The same argument gets repeated over and over: "but it's better now"... ugh. If you could take these benchmarks back in time, everyone would have jumped on a different bandwagon. There is nothing special about release day performance, if you were to have to choose between Fury X or 980Ti, it's the same argument... "Fury X is better now".

Tomorrow will be it's own today, if you're a smart buyer you'll consider performance over the lifespan of how often you upgrade. Instead, the hardware buying market is marked by an absolute lack of any kind of forward thinking. I'd be very suprised if this doesn't happen again with Vega and 1080Ti... Vega will be 10-15% slower at launch and it'll be touted as another Fury X failure. By the time DX12/Vulcan with async compute is common, nobody will care anymore because all the comparisons and benchmarks will be focused on the next generation of GPUs. The fact that so many people supported a product that turned out to be weaker will get swept under the rug.
