It could also be a UTI. They have a very strong impact on older folks.

It’s not something that you would think could cause such mental issues but if you ask someone who work with the elderly it is surprisingly common.

So please take the advice and get him to the doctor. In the meantime please don’t panic about what could be wrong as it may be something as simple as a Urinary tract infection.

Once things have calmed down it’s probably to to work on getting a care plan together. Ask for as much help as you can get from the doctors office, hospital social worker etc in order to pull together your available resources and to understand your options.
