19 y/o college student living in an apartment this fall, any tips?

Do your homework, go to class, use some sort of calender/planner and manage your time well, save partying for weekends or times when you don't have a heavy workload creeping up. But for the food part, I don't worry so much about getting organic foods and whatnot. When available, go for it, but shop around and discount stores. I tend to cook a lot at once and store my food. Similar to meal prep, but not nearly as formal. For example, I'll make a pack or so of chicken at once, maybe some boiled potatoes or rice, and have small cans of veggies to heat up as I go so I don't cook them to death.

If you don't normally do formal meal plans, at least have an idea of what you want to cook the next few weeks before you go to the store. Such as "Hmm, spaghetti sounds good for tomorrow...and steak at some point...ooo, and maybe veggie soup" This way, you're picking up only what you need and not a bunch of randoms that will clutter your cabinets and waste money. Ramen isn't too terrible for you, but I suggest a low sodium broth over the packet they give you. Or use half the packet of powder.
