I lost my virginity on my 19th birthday drunk and high off my ass after my friend (whose party I was at) told me her roommate had told her she wanted to fuck me.

Was it good? No. It was horrible. It was a stupid, sloppy drunken hookup. Neither of us got off.

But do I regret it? No. No one would be ashamed or regretful of an encounter like that if it wasn’t their first time. Why should I be regretful since it was?

I think that the concept of “virginity” is stupid overvalued. It’s just your first time doing something, and that thing happens to be sex. What matters is that the sex is comfortable, safe, and consensual.

Would you refuse to hike for the first time on a small trail in the woods because you’d rather it be at Yosemite? If it was cold and rainy, or if you simply weren’t interested, then sure. Otherwise, it’d be cool if your first time was at Yosemite .., but that doesn’t matter.
