No fucking reason

I'll give you a good reason: because you should never blindly trust that an adult is legitimately a child's parent in this kind of situation.

Any one of those adults could just as easily be a trafficker for example. You can't just take their word for it. These are children, and they need to be kept safe.

Crossing the border like this is not only illegal, but also incredibly dangerous. Sure, there are plenty of good people in these crossing groups, but there are also criminals who will take advantage of others, and that includes women and children.

This whole Nazi comparison garbage needs to stop by the way. Last time I checked, people crossing the border illegally weren't being mass murdered. How is temporary detention prior to deportation even remotely comparable to the extermination of millions of innocent people?

That, is lunacy.
