"EVIL SAUDIS! NOTHING THEY DO IS EVER GOOD!!

i agree, it doesn't mean that the SA armies attending don't deserve to see BTS, even if it is state sponsored. From my perspective, this is very much like cancel culture and i don't think it serves anyone a good purpose. You can't cancel a physical thing that is happening, but you can influence the people who are attending.

Think back to the US in the late 1800s, and 60's to 70's. Progress was always a grass roots movement, it came from the people and then became the law. SA, doesn't work like that. It is not a free country. SA is interested in looking more modern because they are currently still unable to catch up on human rights, & they are aware this is a problem. But with the way SA is run by a government solely by the current House of Saud, many people are unable to influence them otherwise. Their House of Saud descendants however, will be more influenced by modern behaviors and thus modern perceptions of human rights. BTS being one of the more fundamental influences , coming here to perform, despite the influence of the House of Saud, their message is still the same and it is important for the next generation to experience & be influenced by these cultural experiences.

Also i find it quite appalling that people expect SA to be some modern utopia, just because they have money and we live in 2019. SA is not like other countries, they have their own problems to solve, on top of that they still have a ruling royal family. I'm not saying that it isn't wrong, what i'm saying is this is a much more complex issue that most people think, that 'cancelling' a BTS tour wouldn't solve. It's barely the tip of the iceberg. Plus we all know money never solves any social affairs, and even if SA government went and changed the laws about LGBT and womens rights somehow, it'l cause riots and uprisings with other groups, leading to more violence. Nobody wants that.

Ultimately i still think SA needs time, political movement & better influences to change. We all know the issues with SA is stemming from very strong cultural & religious views as well. But I still think that despite the influence of the House of Saud on SA politics & bringing BTS to perform, it's important to give their next generation to experience good things, and give them the chance to change their perspective.
