Why was 1983 chosen as the last year of Xennials? Is it the definite ability to remember some 80s and shaped by Gen X culture?

The reason I always thought I was a millennial was bc I have vivid memories of the year 2000 which I have always thought was a millennial year to remember. Even tho I was in preschool, I remember Britney’s oops I did it again and Nsync as well as Shape of my heart by the Back street boys lol. It was pretty hard to miss considering pop culture was being fed to kids/extremely manufactured. From Britney dolls to Nsync being on Sesame street.

I remember 9/11 and pretty much the early 2000’s vividly. I don’t remember the 90’s other than a foggy memory of a trip to Europe in 1999 but other than that I was old enough to participate in the early 2000’s childhood trends which was still pretty millennial. My first social media was MySpace in 6th grade (2008) and I had an aim account in 2007.
