1x8 is the way to go...

I've probably rode 3x8 more than you, I was racing on it 20 years ago, and I still ride 3x on my commuter bike out of preference. There's nothing wrong with 3x8 and it's the best setup out there in terms of cost per mile and longevity of a lot of drivetrain parts.

Why would you upgrade a bike with SRAM X3 to 1x11 anyway? It has big sentimental value to you?

i´m just saying it´s much more fun to ride a 1x setup

For me it makes zero difference to fun if the 2x bike has a clutch derailleur. 1x is simpler and looks nicer but I don't get by what mechanism it affects fun. Better forks, better tires, stiffer wheels, tubeless all affect fun factor way more than the drivetrain for me, I don't get how the drivetrain affects fun factor unless you're obsessed with it or something.
