Maybe someone here could answer something I'm curious about.

For the past 7-8 weeks I've been cutting, and I've dropped from 244 to 229. About a week ago my weight loss started stagnating so I decided fuck it, I am going to take a few days to eat whatever I want to regain sanity before going back to cutting. I went nuts on day one and ate everything I wanted. Here's where I get confused: on day 2 I woke up, ate a full meal, and decided to weigh myself (not sure why I decided to do it after eating, but whatever). I weighed 227. This has happened after every big cheat day I've taken and I can't figure out what causes it.

Obviously those 2 lbs were water weight, I know I didn't drop 2lbs of fat overnight after going nuts the day before. I'm mainly curious what about overeating and eating junk food like I did could cause me to drop water weight, where eating at a deficit and eating better (lower calorie, higher protein) meals could not?

I can provide food logs of what I normally eat while cutting, I can also provide an idea of what I ate during the cheat day, but unfortunately I didn't accurately track those.
