"2 Nation Theory is bs" Pakistanis living abroad, in your social experiences, would you agree or disagree with this often repeated statement (especially among 'enlightened' people here and on fb)?

Why is it that we contribute the largest to Pakistan's GDP but it is Punjab that benefits most from the budget.

Hmmm

But what is the difference between revenue generation and collection? According to an article by State Bank of Pakistan’s deputy governor Mohammad Ashraf Janjua, we should know two terms: impact and incidence. Those who pay tax, but pass on the final burden to others are bearing the impact of a tax, those who bear the final burden are bearing the ‘incidence’. Thus, if machinery is unloaded in Karachi (tax is paid here), but is being used in Punjab, the tax is collected from Sindh, but generated by Punjab.

Karachi, the industrial hub, does contribute the most to tax collection. But the word should not be generate because, while it generates much, it collects far more than that.

In otherwords, guy sitting in the toll box doesn't own the road. I'm not saying Karachi doesn't generate a significant portion of tax but it is no where near the mythical 70% figure(which is the collection figure).     Keyword: generate, collect

Why is it that we contribute the largest to Pakistan's GDP but it is Punjab that benefits most from the budget.

As mentioned above. Every province gets its fair share. Tens of PhD economists overview these transactions. They are smart enough to calculate simple percentages. Tons of paper work is involved. Various economists from Karachi work in these institution.

Why is it that Lahore gets a Metro rail before Karachi when the road situation in Karachi is literally hell.

Metro bus project was a provincial project between Punjab and the respective company. Punjab will have to pay the cost of the project. It is people from south Punjab who should complain as majority of their fair share gets spent on Lahore.
No one is stopping Sindh from signing projects. As I said don't blame everything on Punjabi boogeyman when the conflict is between muhajirs and sindhis.

The fact is that in all wars with India and in the event of another war with them, Karachites will lose out again since our Navy is outmatched and outclassed. It will be our ports that get blockaded and it will be us that will be isolated from a military point of view...again.

Implying that army left this area vulnerable on purpose. Nearly every problem we face is land based. While Karachi port can get blocked, hundreds of tanks along with soldiers can literally drive in Punjab. Talk about being vulnerable. Similarly, afg-pak is vulnerable and people there are victim of terrorism.

It will be our ports that get blockaded.

Rest of the Pakistan isn't in pacific ocean. All exports and imports go through karachi. It affects us all.

Heck, Pakistani Army did not even remotely improve their Navy again until recently and that is because they now have to protect Gwadar, again it shows the whole nations mentality towards Karachi.

Remember that in wars with india, Punjabi soldiers are the majority who die. In afg-pak conflicts pashtuns are the ones who die.

There is no conspiracy here.
