[20 F] How to tell my mom [56 F] I'm eloping?

I'm not really sure why "because we're in love and we want to" aren't good enough reasons to get married, aren't those pretty much the main reasons people get married? What other reasons would we have... tax benefits?

Personally, I want a courthouse wedding whether it be now or years down the line. The only difference would maybe be a reception afterwards, but that's hardly something I need to get married. In my opinion, it's not "why not wait" but "why wait?" I have a man in my life that loves and supports me and motivates me to be a better person, and I don't know what else I could ask for.

In any case, none of that really answers the question I posed in my post. Thanks for your input, though.
