20-somethings of Reddit, what is your current struggle?

I feel pretty cheesed off that young people are struggling so much financially and emotionally. Everything seems to be about settling into a shitty office job that you have no passion about in order to keep paying rent to some rich old man who just brought 5 new patio heaters for his home while mould infests inside yours. I know people living with fucking mushrooms in their bathroom and they are paying SIX TIMES the cost of the mortgage. “Why don’t you just buy your own home then” – because nobody is helping young people get on the ladder and mortgage lenders won’t accept your rent payment history as proof you can afford a mortgage half the cost!

Then, to piss in the bucket some more, anybody who decided to get married or have children before the holy age of 30 is obviously a drop out with no ambition. It’s almost as bad as when sex wasn’t allowed outside of marriage and you were seen as slutty skank if you were caught – yes it’s literally the modern day version of this. For christ sake, just let people do what they want to do, if they can afford it, leave them alone about it. Sure a lot more people want to wait, but theres a lot who don’t so give them a freaking break. Not everybody has their head on careers.

I love to busy and can’t stand being idle but the idea of earning minimum wage to feed some CEO’s 3rd Porsche and then go home scrape some food together so theres enough money to give the the Landlord his rent so he can buy 5 new fucking patio heaters. How is this fair?

“When I was your age I already owned 2 houses, you flop”.

Fuck off.
