In 20 years, what interior design styles do you see becoming the trends?

What a lazy comment. Yes it is an over generalization to say that ALL people do ANYTHING. Thank you for stating the obvious. It is tedious and everyone already knows - but thanks for bringing it up again because it absolutely didn’t need to be said.

And the reality remains that the most cooking a lot of people do is microwave some frozen shit from the store or MAYBE boil some water with pasta in it they plop a jar of sauce on.

Is that all people? No. Of course not.

We now even have absurd services that ship pre-made pre portioned ingredients to your door so folks can pretend to cook by tossing everything into a sauté pan and heating it up briefly.

Is this true for everyone? No. Of course not. Are there folks who still actually cook regularly? Who know how to break down a chicken and make a pan sauce? Of course. But it isn’t a majority. And even for most of those who DO know how do it infrequently. The person who actually cooks 90% of the meals they eat? I bet it is less than 1:10.

Want proof?

Look at kitchen design. Is it intended to be functional or is it as the original poster pointed out, intended to be about style and entertaining?

Because actual cooks want functional spaces. But I triple dog dare you to try to sell one.
