In 2014, this French weather presenter announced the forecast for 18 August 2050 in France as part of a campaign to alert to the reality of climate change. Now her forecast that day is the actual forecast for the coming 4 or 5 days, in mid-June 2022.

And the weather has gotten insane. I'm from the rhineland (Bonn) and we were always prone to high humidity and thunderstorms as Bonn is basically a bathtub with the rhine at the bottom and surrounding mountains. Even though summer started rather slow this year we already had a very high number of thunderstorms and flash floods. The city actually has a flood prevention structure but they are built for 'regular floods' (from the river rhine and maybe the occasional heavy rain fall with water running down the mountains) but they really can't handle the current situation. It's like the main risk is no longer the river, instead it's insane downpour and little creeks that become actual rivers in like seconds.
