2015 Honda Accord Hybrid Touring vs Toyota Camry Hybrid XLE

I have an 2014 Accord Touring, so I get to contribute opinion for the first time someone actually asked for it! Yay!

These are two ENTIRELY DIFFERENT CARS. The Accord is sport-ing, the Camry is boat-ing. The touring trim just adds gizmos, it does not in any way change the driving dynamics. The LED headlights are fantastic, but the radar cruise is 2/10. I would not buy a touring trim - the EX-L V6 is the same car for less money. Onward - the Accord is semi-competent in handling, downright aggressive in acceleration, and the interior is pleasant. The Camry drives like a jon boat, has "sufficient" acceleration, and the interior looks like the 4Runner designer got moved to the Sedan team. I hate the current gen interior on the Camry, genuinely and truly can't believe they made something so ugly. As for fuel economy as a like for the Honda - wut? Your other selection is the best Hybrid powertrain in the business, it's the clear economy winner. If you drive the Accord LIKE it wants to be driven, it does 24-26mpg average. If you drive it like a Camry hybrid, it'll do 32-35 city & highway believe it or not. The infotainment system in the Honda isn't bad or good, it's just very 'whatever'. If you have the option to not pay for the Navigation portion - don't. The touch screen "device" in the middle of the console is a pain in the ass, uses a shitty TFT that reflects light and is hard to see, and just doesn't help anything at all. The Accord also has a bit of road noise, very characteristic of the Honda brand's history.

What to buy? Realign your wants as what little you provided doesn't really add up. My wife had a 2014 highlander limited for a year (traded for personal reasons) and it was the showcase for Toyota's latest and greatest infotainment system as well. It's beautiful-looking, but it doesn't feature any meaningful functions that aren't available everywhere else. If you want a blend of ass kicking performance and economy on demand, the Accord is the absolute king of the hill right now. If you want cush ride and peak fuel efficiency, the Avalon Hybrid is the vehicle you're looking for.
