The 2020 Election Will Be a War of Disinformation

Ite basically an intractable problem at this point, somethings got to give and its not going to unless we voluntarily take a few steps back from the brink. We've been isolated from each other for so long we dont know how to have a basic conversation, nevermind be ready to have our minds changed.

Nobody wants to admit it but our society has totally collapsed. Every age group has turned into screenlit hermits. Our public lives have imploded. Think back just 10 or 15 years.

  • meeting people before tinder
  • big groups of kids aimlessly wandering on bikes
  • college kids protesting
  • house parties that didnt thin out at 11pm
  • long phone calls with friends
  • full movie theaters and malls
  • overflowing bars and restaurants

We simply do not congregate or connect anymore. I left the office on an unseasonable warm saturday evening last night and took a walk in the city i grew up in. A city with several Universities, colleges and a once thriving arts scene. It felt like a ghost town. Its fucking beyond creepy.

So maybe there is some solution to fixing our closemindedness online but what good is that if everyone is going to scurry home and avoid human contact anyway. I think we should zoom out a bit think about how to get back to talking to each other instead of typing.
