There's no such thing as willpower or self control. If you have ready-to-eat food around the house and you are hungry, you are going to eat it. I do.

Shopping right means making one or two right choices on the food isle. Eating right means making 1,440 good decisions every day. No one can do that. If you don't have bad options for most of those 1,440 minutes, you won't have to worry about making as many bad choices.

Also, it's way easier to "accidentally the whole tub of ice cream" than it is to accidentally light up the grill, mistakenly chop up some broccoli, unintentionally sear a steak, inadvertently steam and butter the broccoli, add a little lemon in a moment of weakness, and then put that all on a plate with a fork and knife without realizing it. And if you do... well, you could do worse than eating high fiber, high protein food.

tl:dr- Minimize or eliminate your access to ready-to-eat food and plan meals with plenty of protein (meat) and very few carbs (sugar, bread). You don't need to starve to get in shape and you don't need to flog yourself running on the treadmill. You just need to change your environment a little. You will be amazed at how rapidly a high protein, moderate fiber, low carb diet of real food coupled with a long walk once a day will change the way you look and feel.
