I (23F) "snitched" on my colleague (46F) about her verbal bullying against student

Hey there!

So it seems like your question has been answered pretty thoroughly, but I thought I'd give you a little more perspective.

When I was in high school I switched schools about every year. Actually, I went to four different high schools. I wasn't a military brat or anything, I just wanted new experiences and went to each school in my district.

I was always a good student. Never straight A's, but I was also never late, never skipped, and took class very seriously.

In my third high school, there was a calculus teacher who was smart, pretty, and funny and a great teacher to every student in the class but me. She was clearly well-liked by the students and faculty, but she singled me out as an idiot because I switched schools several times and dressed somewhat alternatively.

This woman made similar comments to me whenever I'd raise my hand and blew me off every time I'd make an attempt to get assistance with material I was struggling with.

My assigned counselor claimed that those sorts of issues were out of his hands and nothing could be done, so I left for a different school.

I wish I'd had an advocate like you. In fact, I find myself getting a bit upset that you're doubting your decision because it was clearly the only thing to do and that boy will have a better future for it.
