24/F/USA - I've got reliable internet and I'm looking for an international penpal

Hi, Thanks for the message.

I have no problem swapping messages on reddit for a while. I think my main problem with emails...as with most of the stuff in life... is that I don't like efforts to go wasted if that makes any sense.

What exactly does American studies involve? Is it historical? Socialogical? Something else?

New Zealand is somewhat similar to the US in that it's a young british colony although we're a bit more subservient as a nation and still have the queen as our head of state and are a much smaller player globally.

We are probably as much of an inwardly looking nation though when it comes to world news strangely enough.

Is American Studies like my journalism degree: Not worth the paper its printed on?

I like and know about a lot of stuff superficially. My love of sci-fi, fantasy and music of all kinds runs deep as does my love of stand-up comedy. But outside of that I have a running knowledge of most things and can bullshit my way through conversations on a number of issues.

Like writing I enjoy cooking but need to do it for others. My wife and my son are in China visiting my wife's family for a 5 month holiday so my diet has been limited to what can be eaten out of the fridge cold but I enjoy giving them healthy food when they're home.

Anyway better get ready for work. take care and look forward to hearing back from you.

Cheers

Gareth
