24 Hours In - A Report From The Front Lines of Europe

It has been a crazy 24+ hours here at Tripwire Interactive HQ. Just over 24 hours ago we set the ship known as Killing Floor 2 sail in crazy uncharted (for us) waters known as Steam Early Access. For those of you who have decided to take this ride with us, thank you!

For those of you who might just be joining us, we have outlined what our current state and destination are for this journey (and you can catch up here[forums.tripwireinteractive.com]). It is our goal to "do Early Access right", releasing a playable (and fun) game with a subset of content, and to work with the community to iterate and balance that content before adding in the next set.

As we get this journey started we've been tracking several issues that we are trying to clear up as soon as possible (hotfixes when we believe we have solutions). You can keep track of those here. We hope to push out our first hotfix soon to address several of the crashes (server and client), as we continue to investigate others (this may include adding additional logging to the game for more detailed crash reports).

We have found that many users can solve launch issues with following set of fixes. If you are one such user, or know of one, please have them try these:

General Fixes

Make sure your device drivers are up to date. When in doubt, DO A CLEAN VIDEO CARD DRIVER INSTALL. This has helped many users.
Try deleting your my docs/my games/killing floor 2/kfgame/config folder
Verify Steam cache. Right-click on KF2 in Steam Library > Properties > Local Files > [Verify Integrity]
Disconnect USB controllers and other HID devices except for keyboard and mouse
Restart Steam client
Launch Steam (or set the game .exe) to launch as an Administrator

You will also want to try adding: -dx10 -windowed to your launch options via Steam.

Mobile Graphics - Dual Graphics cards 1. NVIDIA Control Panel ( Control Panel, then Hardware & Sound) 2. Manage 3D Settings 3. Program Settings Tab 4. Select Program to Add - Then click add and browse through list and add Killing Floor 2 5. Select the Preferred Processor for this program and Click High Performance Nvidia Processor

You can do the same for AMD based systems.

As we move forward in the coming weeks we are also working towards general bug fixes, balance changes, and a bit further down the line, the next set of content (maps, perks and weapons!).

But you don't have to wait for us, the Killing Floor 2 SDK is available for everybody who purchased the game! We look forward to seeing your creations.
