I once dated a guy who was like that. I was a full time student with a job while he worked 10 hours a week for 2 months before he quit and sat home all day. I was offered a job in a different state (NC) after graduation and my ex kept telling everyone how we were moving soon like that was all on him. I told him 6 months before the move that I would not be taking him with me if he did not have a job offer in NC or at least an interview.

He always said he was gonna get a job doing construction and how he was gonna buy a house, blah blah blah. It was embarrassing to listen to him tell everyone how he was gonna be “rich and successful” when everyone knew he was the biggest leech ever. Trust me, just like you I hoped he’d change and actually for once get off his ass.

Fast forward to one month before the move. No job offer, no interview, he didn’t even look for a job down there. Slacking off, smoking, partying, and the Xbox were more important. I finally had enough. I flew to NC, signed my lease without him and told them I’d be coming alone. This was all without his knowledge. When I came back I broke up with him, packed my shit, and stayed with my parents until it was time to move into my new apartment. Best decision I’ve ever made.
