It's not typical, I would say I spend about 40-60$ on first dates max, and that's if I'm really interested. If it's just coffee, I may only spend like 10$.

Some guys try to impress women with their money, some guys don't know any better and spend thinking they have to, it really just depends on the guy...

I wouldn't worry too much about it, he certainly likes you, but if y'all got physical on the first date it could have been that was all he was hoping for, women do have to be careful with giving it up too early and feeling "used".
