27 Reasons Why You Should NOT Date Yet Another Feminist

25. They will be leeches with delusions of independence

This is so true! I dated a Feminist once. Not a feminist (which is a regular person who identifies as feminist) but a Feminist (a gender-studies, outspoken, militant feminist).

She worked a minimum wage job, and only part time at that. This was a choice, because she was against capitalism (obviously).

She did pay her own rent, but couldn't afford much else. So obviously when we went shopping "together" I would pay. Same in restaurants, going to movies etc. (she's poor, I had a STEM job)

She didn't have a driver's license at 25, so obviously no car either. Not even a scooter. Not even a bike! She had no way to transport herself anywhere and was completely reliant on friends for that. This meant I was the one to drive her (us) everywhere.

She was "weak". Not because "women are weak" but because "she had BLAH BLAH health issues" (that doctors couldn't find because "patriarchy") that made her less strong. So I needed to do all physical stuff like pushing / moving stuff.

Books, cloths, food (other than rice)... she obviously couldn't afford any of it (by choice) but also as obviously wanted it all. So here comes the facebook requests for help! "Look at this shiny book I can't afford cuz patriarchy! Who can help me out?". And as the boyfriend - I help out more than I should have (and felt good about it at the time, obviously. Who doesn't like to do something nice to the person they love?)

It WAS almost identical to "classic gender roles", with her being the helpless woman who needed a man to do everything for her. With the twist of her being vocally against "classic gender roles".

I'm now married to a woman who doesn't consider herself a feminist, but chose her career based on possible future income (as well as personal interest obviously), was completely self sufficient and self reliant since about the age of 18, Had her own car when we met and obviously had a driver's license. Would often buy me stuff and pay for me when we go out.

She's doing more to promote the notion of "women and men are equal" by just... you know, doing actual real life things than that "Feminist" would ever do by complaining about patriarchy while making sure she's never able to hold her own.
