I (27F) won the lottery and my boyfriend (32M) is upset.

Something very similar actually happened to me 2 years ago!!! My wife, mother in law and her husband. (not americans) came with me and we went to the casinos. Their first time. I decided to show them how to play the slot machines. They don't have money so i gave them all the money for them to play with. So as they started i sat next to them. I put $100 in the machine and played mine just to make sure they were comfortable in their play before i scurried off to the tables.

Father in law was having a problem so i got up, walked to his machine to help him. Mother in law jumps in mine. Playing on my money. I decide "screw it. Let her have it." she keeps playing the lowest possible bet. I said "if you are going to sit on my machine. You better play the max!" i promise you, not 3 spins after that she hit for 16k. The feeling i had, i cant express how quickly i became upset because after all, that was my machine. But just as quickly as i became upset, i was happy for her. I didn't take a penny.

If i didnt take that money in that particular situation and became genuinely happy for her, your SO should be more ELATED for your luck, instead of being the one being resentful. He is entitled to zero dollars and if he doesn't recognize that, then he is incredibly selfish and pitiful for thinking otherwise.
