3.0 Production Schedule Report - Updated 11th August

I'm not saying they're bullshitting us and that things are way further behind than it says in the report because I have no proof of that, but I do think it's kind of remarkable how that would explain pretty much all the odd decisions they seem to be making.

I mean, it's entirely possible that they thought something was a couple of weeks away from being finished but it actually needed a solid year of several hundred people working more than full time on it including building core parts from scratch several months after the fact, and not one of the seasoned professional game devs with collectively decades of experience could tell the difference at all. That may well have happened. If it did, it's happened twice because the same thing happened with Star Marine.

And it's also entirely possible that we are seeing their complete internal schedule that they use themselves and they're being completely transparent, and it's standard working practice for a game to get a couple of months away from launch and then completely remove all dates from every project in every department for apparently no reason and it just happens to coincide with when everyone started to get mad about them missing deadlines. I'm no game dev, maybe that's absolutely how it's always done. I don't know why it would be, but maybe it's so.

But it does sort of look an awful lot like the kind of thing that would be the result of a company that's just bullshitting us to keep us happy. Which they'd never do of course. But if they did I'd expect it to look like this. But they totally aren't.
