I’m not a vet, and I don’t have any financial gain from you spending money on the dog. Nor do the other vets who are commenting here. Some of us are thinking about the wellbeing of your pet, it’s not all about money like you think.

Quite frankly it doesn’t matter what others think. You’re trying to justify yourself by saying there are plenty of others like yourself, but this is a topic on YOU. Do you love your pet? Do you want him to live a happy healthy life? If the answers to those questions are “Yes” then you need to look into getting pet insurance, the other option mentioned in the original comment, or even take out a loan.

Yes, veterinary costs are high just like medical costs for humans are too. Why? Because they provide care for your pets in ways that you or I don’t have the ability to. You can continue to complain about how it shouldn’t be that expensive, but it is, and you can’t change it. So you decide now, whether you want to take responsibility for your pet or not.
