3 days in the hospital....

You can work with hospitals if you have no money or insurance. If you are having a baby without insurance you are probably on some sort of government assistance if you sought out prenatal care.

People can qualify for Medicaid if they are lower income. College students/dependents can be on their parents insurance until they are 26 and insurance is offered through colleges also. Elderly get Medicare. Insurance is mostly through employers but there is a government marketplace you can enroll.

My oldest child is 21 and he cost $10 for a c-section, a week hospital stay and all prenatal care, which the hospital billed about $50k for. Today it would cost probably thousands with decent insurance. If you don’t have insurance you will get medical treatment if you seek it and if you can’t pay the hospital will eat the cost and probably try to get it back from the government in some way.
